In the eternal words of my grandpa (and originally Dino) my grandfather always said arrivederci Roma, in all situations, and never while actually in Rome, so here you go arrivederci 2009. I will be celebrating with all my lovers at Panda's swanky party...wahooo

2010 Resolutions:

1.) Have more times like the one pictured above

2.) Blog more (I know I slack I slack)

3.) Learn that it's ok to say no and people will appreciate it way more when I don't flake out on stuff, because accepting 3 sets of plans for one night was never actually realistic

4.) And last, but certainly not least, punch anyone in the nose who says twenty-ten (you were warned feel free just not in my presence it tap dances on my last nerve)

So I knew my salt addiction would catch up with me eventually

Yes yes I openly admit I have a salt addiction, I salt everything, legit everything, a fellow salt addict friend of mine who's name I won't name for the sake of anonymity even clued me into salting bread at a restaurant after you butter it....you must try so good....I draw the line at salting potato chips...but that's because I usually pick the salt and vinegar or salt and pepper variety, I get crazy stares when people in my cafeteria at work notice me grabbing 4 salt packets for one salad, I try to do it sneakily, but knew I had a problem when I started throwing extra un-used napkins on top of my garbage can to hide the number of salt packets I used at lunch, it was getting bad....but who would have known that I would draw the line and say that's it I must face and conquer my addiction tonight! Well it all started when I brought the salt shaker downstairs with dinner probably so I could re-salt my bowl of couscous halfway through (you have no idea how hard it is to salt the entire thing, damn near impossible); coming back upstairs post gossip girl I tried to grab everything I had brought down with me which included a laptop a plate a bowl and the salt shaker and various other things, as my mother would put it a lazy mans load sure to go badly. Well, how right she was.....standing in my bedroom, attempting to put down my laptop I felt something slip and then heard a sickening shatter, salt shaker + tile floor equals HUGE mess, took at least 30 mins to clean up and if you know me I'm super p-noid about stepping on glass ever since my incident with a 3 inch shard of glass from a broken champagne glass....so that's it.....I am giving salt the brush off.....at least for a few weeks, maybs I'll feel better, maybe this was fate's way of saving me from a life of high blood pressure later on, who knows, but I will learn to live a life without salt, oh this is going to be hard....wish me luck

So my dear friend Chrissy informed me that while in LF today she overheard some woman yammering on about digit rings, ugly name if you ask me, but my dear friends, who might I ask, who has been rocking above the knuckle rings for a least the past 3 months telling everyone she was making it a trend if it killed her, yeah that's right, this girl. I will provide photographic evidence soon I'm sure it exists somewhere in facebook land, this trend concept didn't always go over so well, i.e. last week when I announced the trend I intended to start Samanda Mintz likened it to camel toe, well, anyway, I am vindicated, above the knuckle is the way ahead, you heard it here first as in like three months ago, well not really here, but if you're a close friend I've been running my mouth about this for a while, and now I will shut up, trend created, VICTORY!

So I am slacking on le blogging, too much going on in real life, anywayzzzz, so I can't wait for Halloween it is my favorite holiday EVER, Christmas is great and all for the presents but since my birthday is only 3 days before (yes mark your calendars it's this Wednesday Oct 28th, can't say you haven't been warned, I want at least 37 off key happy birthday song voicemails, at least)  I get presents anyway, unlike Christmas when everyone gets presents Halloween is all mine, unless you're Maria Linz or Julia Roberts, who happen to share my illustrious birthday, obviously only hot bitches can share my birthday....anyway story dragged on...so yeah Halloween...my personal Christmas, I love it.

Oh yes we did, no I didn't exactly channel Sloan Peterson for the 80s party, but when I found this leopard print jump suit in my aunt's closet which hadn't seen the light of day since 1984, I knew it had to be mine, and of course it needed a new shot at partying in 2009, wahooo....though it did take a little convincing to get me out of the house in it (I make very bold fashion choices in my bedroom), my roommates convinced me that it was no crazier than most of the other stuff I wear out, and I had to admit they were right, well mr. leopard jumpsuit (yes he's a mr.) had a great night, I have never gotten so many compliments on an outfit, I think paired with some 2009 updates (i.e. hair and make up that 1983 is calling to ask for back)...this outfit could totally make regular appearances....true life I still have Katie's crimper on my bedroom floor

Whoa

Two posts one day, this is getting crazy, but, this one was necessary. I openly admit I'm a dork and am a member of the Guggenheim (spelled right I hope since I am a member I should at least know how to spell it); and the dorkier part is that I became a member for certain perks like finding out about cool stuff they host early, even though I already get in for free through my corporate discount, yeah I know dork squared. Anyway, so I became a member so I wouldn't miss cool stuff, and lo and behold today I find out that I did miss something huge, there's a new concert series called It Came From Brooklyn,  and on Aug 14th I missed the Walkmen, boo, and I'm busy for this one on the 25th with Paul Banks from Interpol, double boo. But for realz how cool is the picture, I want to blow it up and frame it.

Dear Weather (or Mother Nature or whatever),

Ok so yesterday was offically the first day of fall, so why is it 78 degrees with 70% humidity outside. I have been asking nicely for fall weather to really start for weeks now, Saturday was perfection but just a tease. I'd really rather not beg, but if that's what it comes down to I'm willing to start. I would like to order the weather pictured above. K thanks!!

I'm back, back in the New York groove

Greece was beyond beautiful, Santorini may be the most beautiful place on earth. Coming home from vacation is always hard, but when home is the city, it's not so bad, I love New York in the fall, now fall just hurry up and get here.

Puddle Jumping

So I don't really mind a rainy weekend sometimes, especially after the crazy busy week that I've had, followed by tonight, I have to go to a wedding (at least they say it's good luck if it rains on your wedding). Looking forward to sleeping in, lounging around, going to yoga, and starting to pack, just hope it clears up Sunday afternoon for Grizzly Bear, and even if it doesn't I might throw on my hunters and go anyway, a little rain never hurt anyone.

Moving Envy

I feel like everyone I know is moving, well not everyone, but like 4 people, which really if you think about it, is a lot, I am really starting to get the urge to do the same, but my lease isn't up until Feb....soooooo far....blargh....and I've made the big decision that in Feb I will be moving into my own place, no more roommates, not that I don't love them....but it's time for my own space, so I can decorate and have a "grown-up" apartment, because with 5 girls and a dog my current apartment is sort of a dorm/brothel combo, fun yes, but now that I consider myself a real grown-up (graduating for college and getting a real job didn't seem to legitimize my adulthood for me right away), I feel like I should have my own space. Soooooo, yeah I know story dragged on, I started looking around for inspiration, I definitely want to paint, and I do have some furniture but it's mostly bedroom stuff....so I have to buy quite a lot, and I would like a clear vision of what I want my apartment to look like, so I started going through design blogs, and then I found these pictures of a studio in paris, and if it wasn't in paris, I would move in tomorrow, it's so perfect, but then again, if it was here it wouldn't have that view or all that je ne sais quoi that only a french apt can have, I want it, bad.

So I'm new at this blogging thing

I told my friend Amanda (who has really killed it with this blogging thing recently) that I had major blog envy, luckily she had great advice, get over it start one, wow why was that so hard for me to figure out. I argued, but I am le lazy about updating stuff like this (yeah keep that in mind these updates won't happen so frequently), she countered it was a great creative outlet and since I work in the least creative industry around it seemed like a great idea, so here I go, taking the plunge into this whole blogging thing.
